€110 All-Inclusive

Day 1: Arrival in Theth and Exploration

  • 7:30-8:00 AM: Convenient pick-up right from the hostel’s front door, so no need for an early 6:30 AM start.
  • Start in Theth, the most famous mountain village around the Balkans.
  • Spend the full day exploring the Blue Eye and the Grunas Waterfall, perfect as a warm-up for the next day’s hike.
  • Enjoy a relaxing evening after an exciting day.
  • No need to stay an extra night, unless you want to do specific day trips – there are a lot of options.

Day 2: The Big Hike

  • Start the hike in the shade, tackling the most difficult and steepest part early in the day while you’re fresh and energetic. Start your hike on a typical trail, rather than starting your hike walking on big stones in a dry riverbed under the sun as you would if you started in Valbona.
  • By the time you reach the Valbona Pass, it’s after midday so the sun is not that strong, making the trek more comfortable.
  • At the Valbona Pass, enjoy stunning views of the Theth and Valbona Valley from 1800 meters (5900 feet).
  • Begin your descent, soaking up the views that Valbona has to offer on the way down.
  • Relax and unwind in the evening at the guesthouse after a rewarding hike.

Day 3: Return Journey

  • Enjoy a calm breakfast.
  • Around 10:00 AM: Transportation will pick you up right at the guesthouse.
  • Experience the breathtaking scenery of Komani Lake on your way back.
  • Arrive in Shkodra around 5:30-6:00 PM, perfect timing for a good dinner and a restful night’s sleep.

  • Distance Guesthouse to Guesthouse: 17 kilometers (10.5 miles)
  • Duration: 7 hours, give or take 1 or 2 hours.
  • Best Time to Hike: June to October without the need of a local guide.
  • There are two freshwater springs along the way, so no need to carry lots of water.
  • Nights in the mountains are chilly, we recommend something with long sleeves.
  • If the weather doesn’t look promising, it’s always a good idea to have something waterproof handy.
  • There are no ATM’s in the mountains – make sure you have cash to buy a couple of beers during your hike!
  • We recommend buying snacks for your hike in Shkoder beforehand – more supermarkets, more options to suit your dietary needs
